About Me

An Honest Voice, Making a Difference

I am a descendent of settlers, and grew up on a farm south of Macklin, Saskatchewan. After getting my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Saskatchewan/SIAST, I moved to Prince Albert and I have lived and worked here for the past 20 years.

I am mom to Annika and Linnea, and I am married to Tim, who is a public school teacher.

Most recently, I have worked as a nursing instructor for the College of Nursing at the University of Saskatchewan and have been a Registered Nurse for 19 years. I have also volunteered with the Canadian Cancer Society over the years through Relay for Life and their Sun Safety initiatives.

The citizens of Prince Albert deserve a new voice representing them. I hope to use my voice and experience to represent you.

As a public health nurse of 17 years, I got to know some of the challenges people, particularly families, face in this city. The first question I would ask people in my clinic was “Do you have any Concerns?” and then I would work with them to address those varied concerns. This is what I promise to do as your Candidate for the NDP.

It’s been clear through the past few years of the pandemic, that a strong, progressive, health care voice is needed in the Legislature. Publicly-funded Health Care was started by our party and it is being allowed to fail by the current Sask Party government. As citizens we deserve to be cared for without worrying about the cost, or if we will even get to see a health care practitioner, in a timely manner. As a Registered Nurse, I am used to advocating for people, which is why I know that my experience would be an asset in the Legislature. We need a strong and honest voice, and I want to be that voice for you.

We also need new eyes, a fresh energy and I’ve got that too. I am ready to get to work on what matters to you.

I know that there are many issues concerning people that live here. These range from health care and education, to community safety, affordability, and many more.

As an advocate/activist, I am committed to working hard. I am willing to be challenged, and I have proven that I do not back down from a fight that I know can be won. I am dedicated to bringing about change that will make Prince Albert an even better place for us all to live.
